I decided to go with a book on divorce because I can relate to it on a personal level. My parents divorced when I was young and it was a difficult time for me and my sisters.
The book I selected is one of the controversial books on the list and besides one questionable picture, I thought the book was great. It is very straightforward and does not sugar coat the aspects of divorce. It lets a child know what to expect and encourages communication! Loved it.
I think books on divorce are a great way to communicate with your child. The book can help both the parent and the child because sometimes parents need a little help talking about such things.
